The Seven Principles of Health (plus One More)

·      Air

·      Water

·      Sunshine

·      Movement

·      Wholefoods

·      Loving Relationships

·      Passion

·      And Spinal Integrity

The question is, “are these principles in this order for any particular reason”?

I believe they are.

When you come to think of it without air one will surely die within a few minutes unless you are a breatharian, you may survive a little longer.

Air should ideally be as clean and pure and fresh as ever, used to fill the lungs and oxygenate the body.

Then released to breathe out waste gasses including carbon dioxide to help the plants in the process of providing oxygen and food.

Learn the seven rounds of seven and breathing from the belly. It is all so invigorating.

The seven rounds of seven – breathe in for seven seconds, hold for seven seconds, breathe out for seven seconds and wait for seven seconds then repeat this seven times or as often as you can during the day.

Next on the list is water.

Without sufficient water we will surely die as we dehydrate and all bodily functions come to a halt.

Water should be at somewhere around body temperature or somewhat less, avoid ice water if at all possible.

Pure, clean and live is the rule.

Well oxygenated having been exposed to sunlight and if not from a running stream then poured from one glass to another two or three times.

Free of impurities and contaminants.

Sunshine is your friend, your source of energy through sun gazing.

Sufficient exposure each day on the bare skin to be absorbed and provide that important D vitamin.

Take care not to sunburn and no chemical sunscreens.

Maybe a little vegetable oil to help with hydration.

Develop a healthy suntan.

We can store vitamin D, so if you miss a few days or more of sunshine, don’t fret.

Movement, life is movement, movement is life.

Walk at least 30 minutes a day, five times a week.

Walking stimulates all sorts of things in the body.

It makes you feel good, helps with breathing and helps move the lymph through the body.

This is the drainage system or the sewer if you like.

Exercise does not have to be more than a brisk walk, particularly as we get older.

Along with exercise we need adequate rest, not only sleep but rest for the digestive system and for the mind.

There is some thinking that suggests we break our daily fast around mid-day and have our last meal around 6PM in the evening.

This allows the body sufficient time to digest all the food consumed and also to do a house clean each day.

Metabolism, anabolism and catabolism, each is an important part of keeping the body temple vital and lively.

Wholefoods are central to the seven principles.

These ideally should be viable and fresh. Fruit and vegetables in season, seeds and nuts.

Preferably eaten at least 80% raw.

A great test for food you prepare to eat is to ask yourself if I plant this will it grow.

Of course if it is a dead animal, no hope of this happening.

Whereas a whole tomato or a whole apple will grow from the seeds, just a basic conceptual test.

Ideally a balance of energy coming from a diet of about 600-700 grams from fruit, 400-500 grams from vegetables, particularly leafy greens, 120-150 grams from starches and 60-90 grams from concentrates/proteins (dried fruit, seeds and nuts).

At some time it is a good idea to get a set of scales and weigh the food you are eating.

Remember also that too much good food is just as bad as eating foods of poor quality.

Loving Relationships are so important.

I think we have all experienced that person that we just love hanging out with, someone we can help however we can to achieve their desires.

Someone we love and this need not be in a sexual sense.

Someone we feel comfortable being in the presence off, we can communicate with and share common interests among other things.

When we are separated we look forward to the next opportunity to meet.

On the other hand there is the person who we have met the ire and scorn from, someone that makes us feel so bad, a nausea in the pit of the stomach, an ache in the heart and a tear to the eye.

We do not have any feeling of regret if we are never to encounter that person in any way or form for the rest of our lives.

Passion, (pass-i(t)-on, pass-ion) is something that we have such a deep interest and understanding off that we would love to share it with everyone we know in order that they too can enjoy the happiness and feeling of wellbeing that we experience.

Some things we could be passionate about include playing a musical instrument, writing a manuscript, growing a garden or making a toy.

Anything that we enjoy doing and get great happiness from, we should endeavour to pursue as often as we can.

There is one more principle that some like to add, and that is to ensure spinal integrity.

This is to ensure that all the nervous system has free flow through the spinal cord too each and every part of the body.

Many have experienced the pinched nerve or a blocked or partially blocked nerve pathway and the discomfort it causes and the interference with the function of a muscle or joint or organ or something else.

If possible a visit to a chiropractor to help with relaxing and realigning the spinal column.
